I recently participated in the Wells Street Art Festival in Old Town Chicago (June 8-9). The setup on Saturday morning was quite interesting since people did not follow the guidelines of unload then set up; so it took forever to get to my site. We were stuck over two blocks away from my site, so my son Matthew and I just started unloading what we could from the car and moving it to the site. Finally I was able to drive to the site and unload my display panels, just about about 40 minutes before the official start of the show. After all of the drama of the setup, the show went well. I had a few hundred people stop by over the course of the two days. I got a chance to talk to some pretty interesting people and was able to give some tips to people just starting in photography. The best part of any show is the people watching and this show was no exception (some people just shouldn't drink). Sales didn't go like I would have preferred, but I did learn a few things. In the past I have kept the images I use in shows out of my website; due to the number of requests for smaller sizes of the images I displayed I have decided to add them to the website.
The "show" images can now be found in the Artist Choice gallery on the site. I hope you take the time to check out the new gallery as well as the others.
